Adults & Occupational Therapy

It often isn’t until an adult has had an accident, received a diagnosis, or been hospitalized, that they realize what Occupational Therapy can do for them. However, many adults would benefit from Occupational Therapy services prior to events such as these.

Occupational Therapy may be appropriate for individuals with:

  • Learning Disabilities
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Sensory Processing Disorder
  • Downs Syndrome
  • Fine and Gross Motor Delays
  • Developmental Delays

To determine if you, or someone you know, might benefit from Occupational Therapy services, ask yourself the following questions:

·  Is there a difficulty with performing any activity of daily living (self care tasks, life skills, work skills, leisure skills)?

·  Has there been a change in the ability to perform any activity of daily living?

·  Is there something that is more challenging for you to do than it is for other people to do?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, Occupational Therapy services might help you develop greater skills, independence, and confidence with your daily activities.

At Lighthouse Occupational Therapy, we want to know what matters to you – that is the starting point for therapy and the goals we will set together!
